AFTER CARE
-
Saniderm Wrap
Keep the Saniderm wrap on for no longer than 48 hours (two nights).
If you notice redness around the edges of the wrap or suspect an allergic reaction, remove it sooner and proceed with the aftercare steps below.
-
Removing the Wrap
Ideally, remove the wrap in the shower after washing your body and hair to prevent introducing any products into your fresh tattoo.
Gently clean the tattoo with a mild, fragrance-free soap, such as Dr. Bronner’s Liquid Soap or Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.
Expect some ink and plasma during this process—this is normal.
Use clean hands or disposable gloves to wash the area gently with lukewarm to cool water. Avoid hot water, scrubbing, or rough handling. If the area feels slimy, this is natural as your epidermis is still healing. Do not rub excessively.
Drying and Moisturizing
Let the tattoo air dry completely. You can speed up the process by lightly fanning the area with a clean paper towel.
Once dry, apply a thin, even layer of the complimentary tattoo ointment provided by your artist. Repeat this process twice daily—once in the morning and once in the evening.
-
Protecting Your Tattoo
Wear freshly laundered, breathable cotton clothing (long sleeves or pants) to protect your tattoo from bacteria and prevent staining your bed sheets.
For the first three days, your skin is still healing and vulnerable, so treat your tattoo like a minor wound. Avoid exposing it to potential contaminants.
Healing Process
Around the third day, you may experience itching as your skin begins to regenerate. This is normal.
Do not scratch or pick at peeling skin. Let it flake off naturally, as forcing it off can affect how your tattoo heals and its final appearance.
Important Restrictions
Avoid direct sunlight, swimming pools, saunas, gyms, and excessive stretching or sweating for two weeks.
These activities can introduce bacteria or hinder proper healing.
